Rates
Our 2024 sanctioning fees are below. These do not include the required membership, or your boat/pilot costs. See what’s included on the Sanctioning page.
Published rates are for established swims, single swimmer, one way. Prices may vary for custom swims, tandem swims, or doubles - contact us for more information.
Payment due
Your swim application is not complete until dues and sanctioning fees are paid in full. Payment in full is due 90 days prior to the swim date (or first day in swim window).
Refund policy
A refund of 75% will be given for swims cancelled more than 30 days prior to the date of swim (or first date in swim window). Membership dues are not refundable.
Discounts
Lifetime members may deduct $50 from their sanctioning fees for 2024 swims.
We would like marathon swimming to be an inclusive sport. If costs are a barrier, partial scholarships may be available. Email NOWSA to inquire

Payments may be made electronically via PayPal. The direct cost of PayPal fees will be added. Fees are approximately 2.2% and are calculated as [(SUBTOTAL+0.49)/(1-0.0199)]. This fee does not apply to payments made by cash or check. To pay with this method, please contact us for more information.
