Mercer Island Marathon Swim 2020

After much deliberation, we regret to announce that NOWSA will not be hosting the Mercer Island Marathon Swim in 2020. It has been brilliant to watch the event develop over the past three seasons, and appreciate the support from everyone who swam, observed, kayaked, boated, or otherwise supported us to date.

Due to changing family and career commitments, our organizers will not be able to dedicate the necessary amount of time to make this year’s event as safe, fun, and educational as you deserve. We’re proud of the work we’ve done so far, and feel it will be better to cancel the event than to give you something less than the best.

We hope to be able to return to this event in the future. We’re thrilled with where the past three years of swimming around Mercer Island have taken us, and surely don’t want to see it end now.

We remain available for solo swims of Mercer Island and the remainder of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
