Riffe Lake

This year the Riffe Lake swim was moved to the first day of the series. a cold air temperature and stiff heading greeted the swimmers for the first 4 miles of the 13 mile race before settling down and then becoming a small tailwind.

Mayfield Lake

Air temperatures were in the low 50s at the start and only got up to the low 60s by the end of the race, making for an unusually chilly Labor Day. Water temperatures played a big role in today's swim hovering in the low 60s.

Lake Merwin

The mist rose lightly off Lake Merwin for the start of the third day of the swim series. The air temperatures started in the mid 50s but without any clouds the sun quickly warmed things up to the mid 70s. The warmer water temperature in the low 70s was a relief to all swimmers, up from the low 60s in Mayfield Lake the day prior. With almost no wind, conditions were ideal.

Yale Lake

The fourth and final swim of the MSHC was a gusty but sunny start, on Yale Lake. On the rectangular buoy course the first leg was aided by a tailwind. It was the second leg that turned into a headwind for most of its 3.5 miles before the wind died out.
