FAQs: Getting There & Where to Stay

Addresses and distances provided here are approximate and subject to change. Refer to Race Director communications for final details.

Transportation

Flying in? Portland or Seattle

  • Portland International (PDX) is about one-and-a-half hours from the start of the Mayfield and just over 1 hour from the end of Yale Lake.

  • Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) is under 2 hours from the start of the Mayfield and under 3 hours from the end of Yale Lake.

  • Times are stated without traffic. Expect longer drives around rush hour.

On the ground

  •  Once you leave the city (either), travel by car is required to reach these remote areas. Rental cars can be picked up at both airports.

  • Transportation to and from the start of each stage will be the responsibility of the swimmer. The Race Director will share a phone list of other swimmers to help with arranging carpools. (You do NOT need to transport your event-provided kayak.)
